Walter wasn’t made to sit in a drawer. He knows this because he has tried it, briefly, and hated it.

He prefers to lean—against a wall, a backsplash, somewhere he can see what’s going on. Walter likes kitchens with movement. Flour on the counter. Someone tearing bread instead of slicing it clean. A knife that’s been used enough to feel familiar in the hand.

Walter is solid mango wood, which means he’s seen things. Mango grows fast, lives hard, and carries its history right on the surface. The darker center? That’s time. Oxidation. Heat. Maybe a moment when things got a little too close to the flame. Walter doesn’t mind. It gives him character, history, depth.

He doesn’t flinch at crumbs. He understands butter, salt, and the occasional red wine spill. The marks on his surface aren’t flaws—they’re a record of participation. Walter believes a kitchen should look like someone lives there, and the most loved things show the worn marks of use.
