Rufus

Rufus

Rufus is unusually long because he believes most problems are caused by insufficient reach.

The hole at the top is for checking whether someone is home. This makes very little sense when explained further, so Rufus generally doesn’t.

He has clearly been through something. There are marks, dark patches, an unusual left side, and one corner that appears to have simply given up. Rufus considers all of this provenance.

Despite appearances, he is excellent company and can reach things on shelves that the others cannot.

Wood: Koa

Disposition: Resourceful. Weathered. Nosy.

Special skill: Getting involved from several feet away.

Care & Upkeep

Rufus is finished with a food-safe natural wax that will gently evolve with use, developing additional character over time. Because each board is handcrafted fromsolid wood, variations in color, grain, and finish are part of what makes every piece unique. To keep the wood conditioned, apply a food-safe natural wax asneeded and avoid prolonged soaking or the dishwasher. We think Rufus only gets better with age.
