Miso

Miso was, briefly, underestimated.

Many would say, understandably so. There were larger slabs present. Louder shapes. A general assumption that size would correlate with usefulness.

There was a Tuesday afternoon, unremarkable in most respects, after which Miso stopped being described as “small” and started being referred to by name.

No one knows what happened that night.

There are theories. (Audio recordings that cannot be verified. Text exchanges that may well have been doctored. Eyewitness accounts that shift slightly depending on the week.) Nothing that rises to the level of fact, though that has not prevented confident conclusions.

What changed is that Miso stopped being described as “small” and started being described as “Miso,” which, in popular opinion, is a promotion.

He is koa. While not a personality trait, it does seem to have helped.

He is still, technically, the smallest. This is no longer considered relevant.
